365: Obsessed

Confession: I am obsessed with Deadliest Catch.

I have NO idea why.

The show and I have exactly nothing in common. I'm a vegetarian and I abhor the continued pillaging of our seas. They're crab fisherman. They're all blue collar roughneck dudes. And clearly that is about as far from my life as you can get. The show reinforces a ton of gender stereotypes that I generally (fiercely) resist. I can't even fathom worse working conditions. All of the guys on the show are hardcore thrill seekers/risk takers. I've been terrified of a dead bat for two days. I really have no idea what the hook is for me. But the heart wants what the heart wants.

365: Bazinga!

I admit it. I'm totally obsessed with The Big Bang Theory. I've seen it in the past and always thought it was funny but never got "hooked." I think I just had too much going on to dedicate time to get into it. During Christmas my sister got us addicted to so many shows. I mean really, what else is there to do in chilly ass Indiana?!?! The Big Bang Theory was one of them. I've taken it home with me. The best part is that there are reruns of old episodes almost every evening. I've been DVRing them all and watching them pretty much nonstop. They've pretty much become my new Law & Order: SVU. Just wayyyy funnier.

365: Snuggle Time

This week has been kicking our butts. Ange is still sick (on the mend, but still sick), we're both covered in poison oak (please note the back scratcher), and our online classes are kicking our butts. We decided around 9 that all we could muster up the energy to do was to cuddle in bed and watch Modern Family.

365: 80's Fabulous

Our local tv news station (yes we only have one) is ridiculously behind the times. Every time we watch it Ange and I crack up over how it looks like it's a newscast straight from the 1980's. This weekend we went to a suicide prevention/awareness walk that Ange's employer was collaborating with and we had a chance to see the local news in action. We were cracking up. Please note that 1. The camera still takes a VHS tape. And 2. The Camera Girl doubles as a reporter which is why she is dressed up so much. Keep it classy local news.

365: How do I love thee

365: How do I love thee

After a month and a half separation, tv has finally returned to the Bledsoe-Briggs household. If you need me I'll be watching Animal Planet on the couch until my eyes bleed.
